Coordination office

The coordination office is based in Germany, at the University of Tübingen. The coordinator, Professor Olaf Riess, MD, is head of the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics and has more than 20 years of experience in genetically caused disorders. His main focus is on neurodegenerative diseases – both from the clinical as well as from the basic research perspective. Professor Riess has been coordinator of numerous international, European and national funded consortia.

The coordinator works closely with Dr Holm Graessner who has been head of research management at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics since 2008. Holm studied biomedical engineering, German studies and literature, philosophy, as well as business administration and marketing.

Neuromics is also supported by Research Manager, Dr Birte Zurek. Birte studied biochemistry at the University of Bielefeld and did her doctoral studies in innate immunity at the University of Cologne.
