Lizzie graduated from Newcastle University Medical School in 2007 and then completed 4 years training in Adult Medicine in the Northern Deanery and an MSc in Medical Genetics, before starting specialty training in Clinical Genetics, based at the Institute for Genetic Medicine, Centre for Life, Newcastle. In October 2013 she commenced a 3 year Clinical Training and Research Fellowship, funded by Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. In this time she will work on the use of new technologies such as exome and genome sequencing in diagnosing patients with muscular dystrophy.
